Property details
- Lakeside idylls: Welcome to The Ro Hotel Windermere, a new kind of hotel in the peaceful surrounds of Lake Windermere. Located on a hilltop and behind its 19th-century façade, the hotel has been wonderfully refurbished and brought up-to-date, providing unexpected interiors without ever compromising on comfort.
- Local, honest dishes: The emphasis here is on good, honest food all day long. Whether you’re hankering after a lazy breakfast with a newspaper or a hearty lunch with an afternoon tipple, the Lacu Restaurant has you covered. The menu changes seasonally, but the emphasis is always on the best of British produce. Elsewhere, there’s a cosy bar which is a hit with locals and tourists alike, so expect a warm atmosphere.

Interiors are warm and welcoming, and rooms are filled with an array of amenities that make you feel at home - these include a flatscreen smart TV, Wi-Fi, a plush king-size bed, and a sleek en-suite with shower and toiletries.
How to get there
Ro Windermere is situated in the village of Bowness-on-Windermere, right on the lake’s edge. It’s around 80 miles from Manchester, and 120 miles from Sheffield. If you’re coming from the South, then follow the M6 northbound through Preston, or the M1 up to Leeds and then the A650/A629 towards the Lake District.

Location and what's nearby

Helm Road, Bowness-on-Windermere, Windermere, LA23 3BA
Historic sites of interest include the Neolithic Stone Circle at Castlerigg, the Bronze Age settlement at Threlkeld and the Roman fort at Hardknott Pass which makes for one of England's most spectacular drives. Know that you’re following in the footsteps of Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, who both spent time in the area (in fact, you’re only a two-minute walk from the delightful World of Beatrix Potter).
