Location and what's nearby

static map

Stapleford, near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, LE14 2EF

More country than 'Country Life', the Grade I listed Stapleford Park is one of the finest stately houses around. Many hotels can lay claim to an air of aristocratic grandeur or creaking olde-worlde charm, but few could match the character of this sprawling pile, surrounded by 500 acres of rolling green landscape.

There is so much to do on the estate that you really needn't leave, unless you want to. Excellent use is made of the 500 acres, with falconry lessons, horse riding, clay-pigeon shooting, croquet and even duck-herding. After all, who wouldn't want to chase ducks just for the heck of it? Once you've muddied your wax jacket, you could also venture out to visit nearby Melton Mowbray, the ‘Rural Capital of Food’, which is just a 10-minute drive away, or Leicester, 20 miles from the property.
