Explore Sicily’s stunning coastal cities and countryside on a seven, nine, 10, 12 or 14 night self-drive getaway with three incredible stops - includes an oil and bread tasting, car hire, breakfast throughout and flights

Agrigento

Racalmuto is situated in Sicily, about a 30-minute drive from Agrigento, which lies to the southwest. Spend your days enjoying the Sicilian rays by the pool or exploring the area - you’ll be surrounded by typical Italian rurality; vineyards, olive groves and orchards. You’ll find a handful of sandy beaches just a short drive away (the Med can be reached in 25 minutes), as well as Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples - a World Heritage site and Sicily's most impressive archaeological site. While you’re here you’ll enjoy an oil and bread tasting on the farm.

Palazzolo Acreide

Located in the heart of southern Sicily on the headland of the Acremonte, the town of Palazzolo Acreide owes its fame to nearby archaeological excavations that have brought to light the old site of Akrai, the first colony of the powerful Syracuse. Thanks to the many fascinating buildings in Baroque style, Palazzolo Acreide made its way onto the World Heritage list back in 2002 and is packed to the brim with beautifully ornate churches. The town's geographical position, about 40 minutes from Syracuse, makes the area a great starting point for trips and excursions across different destinations in southern Sicily.

Taormina

The star attraction in the area is Taormina itself, a hilltop town with a glamorous, rarefied allure and evocative ancient Greek ruins. Its ancient theatre, perched dramatically on a cliff, dates back to the third century BC and is well worth a visit.

Further afield and rife for exploring, the port city of Catania offers up UNESCO-listed wonders and lively bars and cafes, all framed by the backdrop of mighty Mount Etna. Heading north, discover one of Sicily’s finest cathedrals in Messina, or head to meet Mount Etna herself, where awe-inspiring views of the coast await.
