Property details

Retreat to the idylls of the Lancashire countryside with a self-catering stay in a 12th-century country estate - includes gym and pool access
  • Historic hideaway: Thurnham Hall Resort is a Grade I listed building that takes the form of a 12th-century country estate, set in nearly 30 acres of grounds in scenic Lancashire, moments from the River Conder, making this anything-but-humble abode the perfect setting for a quiet getaway.

  • Wine and dine: You needn't wander far for a spot of dinner or a drink or two, as the resort's restaurant and bar is set in the building's historic interiors and offers a menu of delicious dishes. Spread across the resort's grounds, apartments are cosy and furnished with comfy sofas and snug, carpeted floors. You can cook up a storm in your very own kitchen or head to a local village for some hearty pub grub.

  • Home from home: The interiors retain a charming Jacobean Great Hall, where stone floors give way to wood-panelled walls and a roaring fire burns beneath a head-height mantel. You'll also find a heated indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub as part of the spa's leisure facilities, as well as optional massages and beauty treatments and a well-equipped fitness centre. After returning from a day of exploration in the English countryside, you could also enjoy a friendly game of table tennis.
